Here at Hubb,  We strive to create a company culture that enables a healthy and balanced lifestyle, and today we’re excited to share that, for the second year in a row, our company has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Healthiest employers in the Portland area for 2016 by the Portland Business Journal. In addition, our amazing People Champion Nanci Meadows has been honored with an HR Achievement Award. We’re thrilled to be included in this list with so many other impressive companies committed to creating a healthy environment for their employees.

We believe in living life to the fullest both inside and outside of work, and that includes taking care of your health and well-being! That philosophy is what got us ranked 5th healthiest employer by the Portland Business Journal in the Small Business category.

One of the best parts about our wellness program is that our employees have a large hand in creating it—we believe that those who are closest to the work know it best and that applies to the benefits we provide. This year we performed a “pick your perk” activity where employees were given three green stickers to apply to the perk they valued most or suggest one they would like to see. Yoga emerged as the clear winner, and we now have an instructor come by the office for a weekly class! In addition to Yoga classes, we highly encourage walking meetings in the beautiful trails located next to our office and provide all employees access to three weekly sessions with a personal trainer. Beyond our various fitness offerings, we have also implemented an unlimited PTO policy (with a twist!), requiring that that staff take at least two weeks of PTO per year.  We close our offices for the week of Thanksgiving and for two weeks during the December holidays which effectively means that staff will each get five weeks away from the office each year to spend with family or pursue personal passions - a crucial part of healthy living.

Sound like fun? Check out our job listings!

Nanci has been the driving force behind implementing these programs and we couldn't be more proud of her!
